Me, Myself & Gun Powder
I grew up in Eastern Europe’s Bulgaria – a post communist country with tight gun laws. I have always had a fascination with firearms – hello, they go “BANG” – and had a chance to handle several before I moved to the States. It all started at county fairs – plinking at silhouettes and beer caps, then later I got to shoot my Grandpa’s hunting rifle. Yet handguns – these were hard to find! One of my first boyfriends was a young police officer and he was the first to let me shoot a pistol. Even though I picked up some bad instructions from him, boy – was I hooked!
I moved to the US when I was 18 and got a gun. The rest is history.
In the fall of 2010 I shot in my first local IDPA match. Since then, the sweet smell of gun powder and intoxicating rush of adrenaline would never leave me again. Gradually I started shooting in more and more IDPA & IPSC matches, some state and regional championships; I shot in the Bianchi Cup (Action Pistol) and now I’m trying to learn 3 Gun. Honestly – I love it all. I am really enjoying myself and trying to progress & get better at it just like everyone else.
For the last year or so I’ve been shooting 3 Gun on a semi-professional basis and enjoy the support of several fine companies. I am grateful for all the encouragement & help I have received along the way and cannot wait to see what this shooting season brings me!
On a personal note – I have been married since Jan, 2004 to the nicest man you’ll ever know, I have a 7 year-old daughter and a step-daughter who is 23. I love my business analyst job, I have an MBA, and a slightly disturbing obsession with shoes. I love shooting, hunting, traveling, art and all things girly. I like to laugh and poke fun (mostly at myself), so if you are looking for serious shooting instruction or dry subject matter – evacuate immediately! But if you’d like to share my fun-filled, brass abundant and quite personal experiences with guns, competition, and everything in between – read on.
Please be advised that I am not a professional shooting instructor, nor do I have such aspirations. All my posts are based on personal experiences and opinions. I hope to entertain you, share the truth about the shooting lifestyle with you, and if you are considering giving shooting a try – hopefully convince you it will be the most fun thing you’ll ever do! So, sit back, enjoy the ride, and please, please subscribe, share, or at least “like” our page.
Also, feel free to reach out to me at email@example.com. I’ll try to help in any way I can or simply swap stories. Take care and stick around!
Your friendly neighborhood gun lady,
PS. Special thanks to everyone who ever helped me, encouraged me, or was simply my friend – on the range and off. If you are reading this – I consider you one of those people and thank you warmly.
