About Beth

iPhone August 2014 012The youngest of three daughters, I was born in northern Missouri in the late 1970’s and moved to Mid-Missouri (Columbia — home of the NRA Bianchi Cup) in 1981.

I was quite the tom boy growing up (climbing trees, making mud pies, making forts, etc.) and have always had a love for the outdoors. The last chance for my father to have a son, I became his buddy and often went with dad to hunt and fish. We became such good buddies when I was young I quickly became “Bubba”. I’m still called that by him and my family members to this day! My nieces and nephews call me Aunt Bubba!

It wasn’t until I started working for a shooting, hunting and outdoor products distributor where I really expanded that love to include shooting sports (action pistol and sporting clays) and hunting turkey and whitetail deer. Over the years I have become a Lifetime NRA Member, Eddie Eagle Volunteer, Certified NRA Basic Pistol and RSO Instructor and an Amateur Gunsmith.

I’m slowly starting to get into competitive shooting and I started Sass, Brass & Bullets as a resource for other women who might be interested in doing the same thing that I was.

This blog isn’t just about the ladies who write on it, it’s about every day things and every day people. It feels so good to be back online, and I hope you’ll continue to enjoy reading the information we have to share, and the journey we’re all on.

Beth

P.S. I also have a more personal blog if you’re interested in reading that as well. Something else I do in my spare time.
